Kardashians mad at Caitlyn Jenner over tell-all book

Details from Caitlyn Jenner’s new tell-all book The Secrets Of My Life have started to slip out.

Among them are how Kris Jenner tried to ‘suppress’ the former Olympian’s desire to dress as a woman and new information on why Robert Kardashian defended OJ Simpson during his murder trial.

And the family is none too pleased with all of it. On Wednesday two new reports surfaced that alleged Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian are so mad at the former I Am Cait star, 67, they are barely talking to her.

‘This is the last straw.’

In 2015 the family was livid that Caitlyn put Kris in a bad light when she talked to Vanity Fair magazine.

Now the same thing is happening all over again with the book.

One big problem is that Jenner never gave the family a head’s up about what was in the book.

Instead, the former athlete said she wanted it to be a surprise, it was claimed.

‘They’re tired of being caught off guard,’ the Us source said…

At least a dozen students were hospitalized after their school bus rolled over on a rural Idaho highway, police said.

Lincoln County Sheriff Rene Rodriguez said junior high students from Carey School were on their way to a track meet in Gooding when their bus crashed about 125 miles southeast of Boise on U.S. Highway 26.

The driver, 67-year-old Richard Mecham, drove off the right shoulder, overcorrected and rolled the 2011 school bus Tuesday, according to Idaho State Police.

Baswedan claims Jakarta in tense election

Jakarta’s incumbent Christian governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama looks to have lost his position to Anies Baswedan, following an election riven by religious tensions.

There were cheers at the camp of governor hopeful Baswedan and running mate Sandiago Uno as quick counts of the election in Indonesia’s capital came streaming in on Wednesday afternoon.

“We just got news that 90 per cent of the quick count has come in and it shows Jakarta has a new governor and deputy governor,” their backer, politician and businessman Prabowo Subianto announced.

Subianto lost to President Joko Widodo at the 2014 national election and is believed to want to try again in 2019.

While numbers varied, quick counts of the election by a number of sources including the national newspaper the Jakarta Post, MetroTV and the online website Kompas, all had Baswedan comfortably ahead.

Shortly after Subianto made his announcement Baswedan took the microphone, telling his supporters: “For us the journey is still long”.

“Our real effort is to bring justice for Jakarta’s people.”

Uno, meanwhile, called for unity saying: “Let’s forget the past months, let’s look at the victorious five years ahead for Jakarta”.

The pair had gone up against Purnama – commonly referred to as Ahok – who took the gubernatorial reigns after Widodo went from running Jakarta to running the country in 2014.

Since then, Ahok had promoted himself as an anti-corruption, straight-talking politician who was bent on cleaning up Jakarta’s streets, and building infrastructure.

He looked set for a comfortable victory.

Bus crash kills 44 in northern India: official

New Delhi (AFP) – A bus has swerved off a mountain road and plunged into a deep ravine in a Himalayan region of northern India, killing at least 44 people, an official said Wednesday.

The bus with 56 passengers on board plunged into a river in northern Himachal Pradesh state around 115 kilometres (70 miles) from the capital Shimla.

“A preliminary report shows that a private bus fell into a gorge and has killed more than 40 people. The latest report given to me shows 44 people have been killed,” Rohan Chand Thakur, district commissioner of Shimla, told AFP.

Police rushed to the scene where rescue efforts were underway, he added. It was not immediately clear what caused the accident, or whether any of the survivors were injured.

India has some of the world’s deadliest roads with more than 150,000 fatalities annually due to poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving.

Don’t pay $20k on a big screen TV – Download a NEW TV app for just $1 with augmented reality

YOU could spend thousands of dollars on new TVs or you could just download a TV app for just $1.

This is one of Mark Zuckerberg’s goals for Facebook, with the company making a big push into augmented reality.

The technology, which places computer generated graphics over a real-world environment, first became mainstream when Pokemon Go was released on iOS and Android last year.

Using augmented reality (AR), players looked at the world through their phone’s display, which combined the viewfinder feed from their camera and an overlay of 3D graphics of Pokemon.

Seeing the hype the technology created among users, Facebook announced at its annual F8 Developer Conference that it’s working on its own AR platform to allow people to overlay digital images and text onto photos and videos in the social media platform.

“We’re going to make the camera the first mainstream AR platform,” Zuckerberg said at the conference.

While currently only in closed beta and open to developers, Zuckerberg said the technology would eventually become available for free in all of Facebook-owned properties — Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp.

“You’re going to be able to swipe to your camera and swipe through the effects: Face masks, art frames, style transfers,” he said.

“But instead of a few options to choose from, you’ll have thousands to choose from.”

Donald Trump just got humiliated in first big poll since he came to power

jon-ossoff.jpgCritics say Donald Trump has been left humiliated by a strong Democratic performance in a special election vote that was seen as indicative of support for his presidency. Though he narrowly failed to secure an outright first round win, Democratic hopeful Jon Ossoff claimed his 48.1 per cent was a “victory for the ages” in the Atlanta congressional race.

Against a field of 18 candidates, including 11 Republicans, Mr Ossoff outperformed polls in Georgia’s traditionally Republican 6th Congressional District.

But he came just short of the 50 per cent he needed to make it into Congress without a run-off, allowing Mr Trump himself to claim the result was a “big ‘R’ win”.

In June, Mr Ossoff will go head-to-head with Republican candidate Karen Handel, who won just 19.8 per cent of the vote. Republican voters are expected to rally around their last remaining candidate, presenting a greater challenge to the Democrat hopeful.

But Mr Ossoff was undeterred. “This is already a victory for the ages,” he told supporters. “We have defied the odds, we have shattered expectations.”

The Dutch model is thought to be dating fellow model Jordan Barrett, 20, who is 13 years her junior.

Adam Barton makes lewd suggestion as he visits sperm bank  ‘I’ll give it a good pull!’

Things became a little risqué on Emmerdale on Tuesday night as Adam Barton [played by Adam Thomas] make a faux pas while at the fertility clinic on Tuesday evening.

Attending the clinic with other half Victoria [Isabel Hodgins], Adam was required to provide a sperm sample so he could undergo tests.

But things got a little awkward for the farmer as he was sent in to see the nurse, who explained what he needed to do.

‘I think I know how to do it,’ he insisted before being directed to some magazines that were there to help the process.

Lone beaver leads curious cattle around Canadian farm

Canadian ranch owners noticed something strange about their cattle when they decided to pay a them visit on Good Friday.

On their mid-afternoon check on their Ituna property in Saskatchewan, Adrienne Ivey and her husband Aaron found all of their 150 heifers crowded around in one tight group.

“We expected maybe a new calf, but what we actually found was possibly the most Canadian thing we have ever witnessed on our ranch,” Ms Ivey wrote on her blog.

They saw the heifers were following a beaver happily leading the herd around the pasture.

Ms Ivey recorded the scene: the cattle were tentatively following a lone beaver.

In the video, the cows take turns to get closer to the beaver for a quick sniff, before retreating back to the group.

Ms Ivey said her livestock “were enchanted by the cute little guy and followed him everywhere”.

USS Carl Vinson wasn’t heading to North Korea as Trump admin originally suggested

A “very powerful” US Navy armada which the Trump administration said was heading towards the Korean Peninsula to deter the North from carrying out a nuclear test was actually carrying out exercises with the Royal Australian Navy thousands of kilometres away in the Indian Ocean, the ABC has confirmed.

Key points:

  • Beijing “has the ability” to bring North Korea into position where it’s not threatening neighbours, Turnbull says
  • North Korea’s nuclear program threatens Australia, Julie Bishop says
  • “We’ll be conducting more missile tests weekly,” North Korean Vice Foreign Minister says

As tensions soared on the Korean Peninsula earlier this month, the US Government said the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier was being dispatched to the Sea of Japan to send a “powerful signal” to North Korea.

The Vinson’s strike group had been scheduled to make port visits to Australia, but on April 8 the US Pacific Fleet announced it would “sail north and report on station in the Western Pacific Ocean after departing Singapore“.

But instead of heading straight towards the Korean peninsula the US strike group instead conducted planned exercises with HMAS Ballarat in the Indian Ocean.

Iceberg tourists flock to Newfoundland town

A new resident off the coast of a Canadian town has turned it into a cool tourist spot.

Canada’s CBC News said that over the Easter weekend, the Southern Shore highway near the town of Ferryland was blocked with traffic as photographers – professional or amateur – pulled up to snap the hulking ice mountain.

The area off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador is colloquially known as “iceberg alley” thanks to the large number of ice blocks that drift down from the arctic each spring.

The icebergs are often locked into sea ice, which can last until late spring or early summer, but this one looks like it has grounded and could remain in place, Mayor Adrian Kavanagh told The Canadian Press.

SPOILER: Broadchurch Leo becomes bizarre sex symbol for fans as they continue to lust after him

BROADCHURCH rapist Leo Humphries has become a bizarre sex symbol for fans of the crime drama. They lust over Chris Mason, 26, who plays him, despite Leo being unmasked as a serial sex beast in the series finale.

One viewer, @stedanchick, tweeted: “Don’t you just hate it when they make the sexiest beaut on the show a baddie?

“How am I supposed to hate Leo’s beautiful face?”

Ciara Keana added: “Sorry, but Leo is a dreamboat.” And Scotty Mac wrote: “Let’s face it, he’s hot!”

Others acknowledged the character’s evil side, yet that not stop them fancying

Their Finest review: Bill Nighy scores the best bits of this Blitz pic

Early in Lone Scherfig’s Their Finest, I had the awful feeling that the heroine Catrin (Gemma Arterton), who works at the Ministry of Information, would wind up coining the phrase “Keep calm and carry on”.

MOVIES
THEIR FINEST
★★★½
(M) Selected cinemas (116 minutes)

Thankfully, this does not occur. The story follows the making of a film within the film – an (imaginary) wartime propaganda piece inspired by a heroic rescue undertaken by two sisters during the Dunkirk evacuation.

Gemma Arterton plays a feminist of her time in this nostalgic war flick.

Nostalgia for the Blitz has become one of Britain’s most marketable commodities, especially now collective memory of the reality is starting to vanish.
