Laurie Daley sacked as NSW Origin coach

LAURE Daley has been sacked as NSW Origin coach.

After a disastrous series loss this year the Canberra legend won’t be offered a new contract on 2018.

He has won one of five series in charge.

This year’s campaign will have hurt the most. After winning game one in Brisbane and dominating for 60 minutes in game two in Sydney, the Blues stumbled badly as some Johnathan Thurston magic ensured the series went to a decider.

Queensland, as it has been for 11 of the past 12 series, proved too classy once again in the decider and ensured Daley and all his staff and players would be put under the microscope.

The decision to end Daley’s time in charge of the Blues was decided when the NSW Rugby League (NSWRL) board met on Friday…

Hong Kong’s last governor is ‘astonished’ at Britain’s behaviour and says it must be firmer as it searches for a post-EU trade relationship.

The British government’s “kowtowing” to China on issues including human rights and Hong Kong’s quest for democracy will become increasingly craven following the UK’s departure from the European Union, the former colony’s last governor has warned.

In an interview with the Guardian marking the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to Chinese control, on 1 July 1997, Lord Patten attacked what he called London’s repeated failure to challenge Beijing over its erosion of the territory’s freedoms and autonomy.

The Conservative peer said a sequence of “outrageous breaches” of the Sino-British handover agreement – including the alleged abduction of a group of political booksellers – had prompted little more than “a slightly embarrassed clearing of the throat” and some “tut-tutting” from Downing Street…

Her impression of the White House press secretary on “Saturday Night Live” has received rave reviews, but this skit takes the joke to a whole new level.

In clips posted on social media today, fans got to see every angle of the actress, 46, who is hosting the sketch comedy show on Saturday. Dressed as Spicer and zooming around on a motorized podium, she screams at Columbus Circle traffic.

Spicer himself commented on the satire earlier in the year, calling it “cute.”

In March, McCarthy explained that her resemblance to Spicer is because her father is a spitting image of the man.
