Trump furious as Russia probe steps up pressure

DONALD Trump holed himself up in the White House and spent the day “fuming” as he watched the Russian drama unfold on TV.

AS THE investigation into possible links between the Trump campaign and Russia delivered its first blows on Monday, Donald Trump hunkered down in his private residence on the third storey of the White House with his bank of large-screen TVs blaring.

The President grew increasingly angry as the cable news channels broadcast around-the-clock coverage of his former campaign chief Paul Manafort and his business associate Rick Gates turning themselves in to the FBI.

The special counsel probe hit both men with 12 sensational charges — including “conspiracy against the United States — relating to a “scheme” that allegedly saw them act as foreign agents for a pro-Russian political party in Ukraine, funnel $75 million through dodgy bank accounts and then lie to authorities about it…

Stephen Wooldridge dies; Australian Olympic cycling gold medallist from Athens

AUSTRALIAN cycling is mourning the death of Olympic champion Stephen Wooldridge at the age of 39.

Wooldridge was part of the Australian team pursuit that won gold on the track in the 2004 Athens Olympics and won four world titles in the same event in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006.

He also won a gold and silver medal at the Commonwealth Games and in 2015 was inducted into the NSW Hall of Champions in recognition of his career.

At the Athens Olympics, Wooldridge rode the preliminary round of the team pursuit along with Peter Dawson before making way for Graeme Brown, Brad McGee, Brett Lancaster and Luke Roberts in the final as Australia beat Great Britain. But the IOC ruled that all riders who took part in any round would be awarded the same medal as those in the final.

“Stephen was inducted into the NSW Sports Hall of Fame in 2015; an honour he was delighted to receive both personally and for the sport of cycling.

“Stephen went onto pursue a career in the tertiary education sector primarily with the University of NSW, where he was a prominent administrator. This extended to his various roles with Cycling Australia and Oceania Cycling Confederation Boards and Committees.

“Cycling NSW’s thoughts are with Stephen’s family and his friends during this difficult time.”

Trump’s Approval Rating Hits New Low. Only 33% of American voters currently approve…

More than half of American voters are  “embarrassed” to have him as president

A new national poll from Quinnipiac University shows that Donald Trump has hit his lowest approval rating and highest disapproval rating since his inauguration.

Only 33% of American voters currently approve of the president’s job performance, while 61% disapprove. Fifty-four percent say they are embarrassed to have him as their president, while 26% say they are proud. Sixty percent say Trump believes his is “above the law,” and 57% say he is abusing the powers of his office. More than two-thirds of voters, 71%, say he is not level-headed.

Meanwhile, one of Trump’s most prominent Republican critics, John McCain, saw a high favorability rating among Democrats (74%) and a much lower one among Republicans (39%) following his decision not to vote for the “skinny repeal” of Obamacare (which occurred partway through the polling period).

The poll was conducted from July 27 to August 1 among 1,125 voters nationwide with a margin of error of +/- 3.4%.

Harry Styles Australia 2018 tour

HARRY Styles fans who missed out on tickets to his November shows will get a second chance when the pop star plays arenas in Australia next April.

The former One Direction member will play Perth Arena on April 21, Hisense Arena in Melbourne on April 24, Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on April 27 and Brisbane Entertainment Centre on April 28.

He is not playing Adelaide.

Tickets are priced between $99.90 and $149.90, with no VIP or meet and greet packages.

The pre-sale for tickets starts next Tuesday, with the general on sale next Thursday June 15.

On sale dates are staggered across the states.

Tickets will not be delivered until next year to try to avoid scalpers.

Millionaire’s son kills himself & 3 others when his Porsche careers off motorway and EXPLODES

THIS is the moment four people – including a mother and her child – died in a huge explosion when the son of a millionaire lost control of his Porsche and smashed into a parked car.

Porsche driver Iorgos Vakakis and his friend were both killed instantly as were a 33-year-old woman and her young child who were in the parked Honda Civic.
