Airplane’s Terrifying Landing May Put You Off Flying For Good

Dramatic footage shows the world’s largest passenger airliner appearing to drift across the runway while landing at Dusseldorf Airport in Germany.

The Emirates Airlines’ Airbus A380 from Dubai bounced to its left and then to its right soon after touching down during high winds on Thursday.“I have filmed a few thousand crosswind landings at several airports in Europe within the past years, but this Airbus A380 crosswind landing was extremely hard and extraordinary,” said airplane spotter Martin Bogdan, who shared the clip to YouTube.“I have never seen such a tremendous reaction of an aeroplane after a touchdown,” he added. “You can see that the pilots tried to align with the runway by using the tail rudder and luckily it worked out.”

Barcelona: SECOND attack just hours after 13 massacred. 5 terrorists killed and ‘7 people injured’

SEVEN people are injured and five terrorists have been killed in a second terror attack in Spain – just hours after 13 people were mowed down in Barcelona.

The bloodshed erupted in the early hours of this morning in the resort town of Cambrils, located 70 miles south of the earlier attack.

This image shows the timeline of the horrific events that occurred in Barcelona yesterday afternoon

Cops tweeted: “We are working on the theory that the terrorists killed in Cambrils were related to the attacks in Barcelona and Alcanar.”

Spanish media report that five suspects – feared to be wearing “explosive belts” – have been killed in Cambrils.

Six civilians were injured – two seriously – and a police officer was also hurt.

Bomb disposal officers are working to determine whether the alleged terrorists were wearing explosive vests. They are carrying out controlled explosions in Cambrils and told locals not to be alarmed via Twitter…

Senate Republican plan to repeal, replace Obamacare fails to get enough votes 43/57

A plan to repeal and replace Obamacare that Senate Republicans have been working on for months failed to get the 60 votes needed for approval Tuesday night.

The vote was 43 in favor and 57 against. Nine Republicans voted against the measure.

The plan would have made deep cuts to Medicaid, the health insurance program for the poor, and reduced Obamacare subsidies to lower-income people to help them defray the cost of health insurance.

It was the first of many expected votes this week on repealing or replacing elements of President Barack Obama’s signature healthcare law.

Revolutionary gel is five times stronger than steel, revolutionize how our bodies heal

Researchers have developed a new gel they say is as durable as metal, has the flexibility of jello, and could revolutionize how our bodies heal and age.

It may look like a mesh bandage, but this material engineered by scientists in Japan is said to be five times stronger than carbon steel.
The tough, bendable fabric combines hydrogels — such as those found in contact lenses or jello — with glass fibers.
This particular combination maximizes its resilience, making the material 100 times tougher than hydrogels and 25 times tougher than glass fiber fabric, based on the amount of energy needed to destroy it.
“It’s the strongest soft material ever obtained by human beings,” Professor Jian Ping Gong, who leads the team, tells CNN.
Gong believes the fiber-reinforced hydrogel could be used to create biomaterials, such as artificial organs and prostheses, able to endure everyday wear-and-tear.
“It might be used as a biological substitute like artificial cartilage, or artificial ligament, or various kinds of artificial organs,” she says.
Other uses could include sports clothing, helmets or bulletproof vests.
“I think it could have very good performance against a bullet,” says Gong.

Trump-Russia inquiry: Vice-President Pence hires lawyer

Vice-President Mike Pence has hired an outside lawyer to handle his response to inquiries into possible ties between President Trump’s campaign and Russia.

Richard Cullen is known for representing high profile clients.

Earlier, US media reported that Donald Trump was being investigated by special counsel Robert Mueller for possible obstruction of justice.

Mr Mueller is leading an FBI inquiry into Russia’s alleged meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

Reports in US media said senior intelligence officials would be interviewed on whether Mr Trump tried to end an inquiry into his sacked National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, and about the firing of FBI chief James Comey…

Boss of payroll co skimmed record $165 million from ATO  becomes 10th person to be charged

Another man has been charged over a tax evasion scheme that allegedly stole $165 million from the Australian Tax Office.

Simon Paul Anquetil, from Sydney’s north shore, is the 10th person to be charged in relation to the scheme and is due to face Sydney’s Central Local court on Friday.

He’s charged with conspiracy to defraud the commonwealth, the same as his co-accused Adam Cranston, the son of senior tax official Michael Cranston.

Mr Anquetil, 34, was former chief executive of Plutus Payroll Australia –  a legitimate company at the centre of a complex web of alleged deception.

Mr Anquetil paid former Miss World Australia winner Erin Holland to lure clients in to big events hosted by the payroll company.

Ms Holland, who took out the 2013 beauty pageant, was paraded at Plutus promotional parties and featured heavily in its social media advertisements.

‘Continuing to be spoilt rotten by my wonderful client Plutus Payroll Australia!’ Ms Holland wrote on her Facebook page, according to The Australian.

‘Erin Holland was engaged by Plutus Payroll to perform and host events curated by Plutus Payroll,’ Ms Holland’s agent told Daily Mail Australia in a statement.

‘At no time did Erin Holland have any involvement in, or knowledge of, alleged misconduct or alleged criminal activity by any person associated with Plutus Payroll or its related businesses.’

The fraud ring allegedly diverted $165 million in taxpayers' money to fund their 'lavish lifestyles' (co-acused Adam Cranston pictured leaving court on Thursday)
Adam Cranston and his sister are among nine people who were arrested on Wednesday. AFP allege the group used stolen taxpayer funds to fund their 'lavish lifestyles' (pictured, $1 million in seized cash)

Police allege the elaborate syndicate ran the payroll company and accepted money from clients to process payroll on their behalf.

Money was transferred to subcontracted or second-tier companies which made the payroll payments. That was legal but police allege what happened next was not…

BREAKING: Trump’s team knew Flynn was under investigation before the inauguration

BREAKING

Michael Flynn reportedly told Donald Trump and his transition team he was under investigation weeks before the president moved into the White House.

The New York Times reports Flynn himself told the Trump camp: ‘he was under federal investigation for secretly working as a paid lobbyist for Turkey during the campaign’.

The Times claims two people familiar with the Flynn case told the former national security adviser he was being investigated. The 58-year-old reportedly then informed Trump’s chief lawyer, Donald McGahn, on January 4.

Flynn, according to the newspaper, had another conversation with lawyers on the transition team two days later.

Those reported conversations, if true, would prove Trump and his team knew about the investigation into Flynn well before it has been reported up until now.

The news comes after former acting Attorney General Sally Yates testified before Congress last week she had told McGahn Flynn ‘likely could be blackmailed by the Russians.’

Yates had warned the White House Flynn had lied to Vice President Mike Pence on discussing sanctions with the Russian ambassador, and Pence subsequently made public statements repeating those untruths.

Flynn was fired just 24 days into his job, but he time with the White House has had a lingering impact.

After he was sacked, Trump reportedly tried to get former FBI Director James Comey to drop the investigation into the ex-general.

Comey did not. He was controversially fired by the president on May 9.

It was also reported by CNN this month President Barack Obama warned Trump against hiring Flynn during a face-to-face meeting in November.

The Times reports the White House would not comment on whether it was aware of Flynn’s legal status prior to January’s inauguration.

Girl, 11, raped by her stepfather returns to school after giving birth to a baby

An Australian police officer has described the case of girl, 11, who gave birth to a baby after being raped by her stepfather as the most disturbing she had ever worked on.

An 11-year-old girl who was raped by her stepfather has returned to primary school after giving birth to a baby boy.

Last year, an ultrasound revealed the Papua New Guinean schoolgirl had passed the 20-week mark of the pregnancy, meaning she was ineligible for a termination under PNG law.

Becky (not her real name) went on to give birth to a healthy baby boy and returned to school after he was adopted by another family.

The 11-year-old’s stepfather has since died in prison, meaning the young girl will not have to go through the gruelling process of giving evidence at a trial.

The organisation, which receives funding from the Australian aid program and private sector, works with police to help family and sexual violence survivors access services such as safe houses and legal assistance.

Sergeant Arnold said Femili PNG was the glue between the police force, courts, health system and women’s shelters.

‘Although we couldn’t take back the crime, as a group everyone made it work,’ she said.

Becky went on to give birth to a healthy baby boy who was later adopted. She’s since returned to primary school.

‘To see her in her school uniform on the first day back at school, to me that was so special,’ Sgt Arnold said.

US coalition killed more Syrian civilians than Isis or Russia in March, figures show

aleppo-pain.jpgMore civilians caught up in the Syrian conflict were killed by US-led coalitions than by Isis or Russian-led forces in the last month, according to figures released by a human rights organisation.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR), found Isis killed 119 civilians in Syria in March, including 19 children and 7 women, with Russian forces believed to have killed 224 civilians in the same month, including 51 children and 42 women.

The SNHR found the international coalition forces, led by the US, killed 260 civilians, including 70 children and 34 women.

In the same month, reports of civilian deaths from US air strikes across Syria and Iraq soared to an all-time high, according to Airwars, a British monitoring group, which found there were 1,472 casualties linked to US air strikes in March.
