3yo Kawa Sweeney in Perth with her father on an emergency flight from Bali

UPDATE: THE  aunty of a little girl who was pulled unconscious from a Bali pool has thanked the Perth doctor who revived her and the people who donated money to help bring her home.

Three-year-old Kawa Sweeney arrived in Perth this evening after being accompanied by her father on an emergency flight from the holiday island.

The toddler was resuscitated by a Cottesloe doctor, who provided CPR for more than an hour at a Bali villa after she was found unconscious in the pool on Sunday morning.

Orthopaedic surgeon Grant Booth had just been surfing with Kawa’s dad when he heard the commotion from the beach.

Dr Booth was able to get the three-year-old’s heart beating again – something Kawa’s family says they are extremely grateful for.

“(We’re) just so, so incredibly grateful for him and the people around that were able to save her life,” Kawa’s aunty Christine Walsh said, fighting back tears.

Trump Friday Morning Briefing: ‘The atmosphere has become toxic’

Computer system restrictions, checking aides’ cellphones and fears of phone and email monitoring. President Donald Trump is unhappy with the leaks to the media coming from his administration. But efforts to plug those leaks have fueled paranoia among Beltway civil servants to a point where some are afraid to speak their minds during internal discussions.

Quote of the day

“There is a climate of intimidation, not just about talking to reporters, but also about communicating with colleagues.” – anonymous official.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions pledged to stay out of any probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. He also said he did nothing wrong by failing to disclose that last year while he was a senator and Trump’s campaign ally, he met Russia’s ambassador. Intelligence agencies later concluded that Russia hacked and leaked Democratic emails during the campaign as part of an effort to tilt the vote in Trump’s favor. Democrats want Sessions to resign. Trump said he has full confidence in the attorney general.

One consequence of the investigations into alleged Russian hacking is that Trump isn’t as effusive in his praise for Vladimir Putin. His top foreign policy advisers have started talking tougher about Russia. And his recent appointments reflect a more hawkish view of Russia.

Why You Never Reheat Nor Reboil Your Water Again

Boiling-Water-2-768x514.pngWhy You Never Reheat Nor Reboil Your Water

Its inevitable that almost everybody reboil water, but only few people know about its health implication. But, it should not be done because there are 2 major risks related with that. Read on and the reasons will surprise you!

1. Toxic concentration increase
Tap water is not that clear as it looks. The Environmental Working Group found 316 chemicals, such as:

  • Arsenic
  • Chlorine byproducts
  • Fertilizer
  • Fuel propellant
  • Heavy metals
  • Industrial solvents
  • Plasticizers
  • Radioactive isotopes
  • Fluoride

These chemicals cannot be eliminated by boiling, unlike microorganisms. Actually, when boiling water with those chemicals, you are making the toxins concentration worse. The water starts to evaporate, while the toxins stay put, making the water even more dangerous. So, the more you boil it, the more dangerous it becomes. High concentrations of these chemicals can be really dangerous.

For instance, arsenic produces nausea, vomiting, pain in the abdomen, and diarrhea. Long-term exposure causes cancer.

Drinking high concentrations of chlorine causes a 93% higher cancer risk than average. Don’t make your water worse by boiling it multiple times. You might want to think about switching to natural spring water to avoid the chemicals.

2. Potential explosions
This is a huge risk if you reheat your tea in the microwave.

Microwaves heat water molecules very quickly. At times, the molecules get heated before they can turn into vapor. At this point, the water is referred to as ‘super-heated.’

When you take the cup out of the microwave, it begins to cool and the water vapor suddenly goes *poof!*

Stir the water before reheating to prevent this. Most people do not do this or they don’t know they are supposed to do it.
