IT review and rating (2017)

IT (MA15+)

Rating: Four stars (4 out of 5)

A spectacularly spooky new adaptation of the old Stephen King book, It arrives fully weaponised with enough heebies and jeebies to force a global spike in recorded outbreaks of coulrophobia.

That’s the fear of clowns, in case you didn’t know…

Perth woman caught in road rage. ‘I thought I was going to die’

A MOTHER who was allegedly rammed off the road at high speed said she thought she was going to die as her car rolled south of Perth.

Melissa Hahn was driving her son to the airport about 4.15am when police say they were allegedly chased along South Western Highway near Byford by a man who had tried to flag them down.

Police claim her Nissan Navara was rammed several times as they were travelling about 120km/h, forcing her off the road before she lost control and the vehicle rolled.

As they were trapped inside, Ms Hahn claimed the man from the car approached and began yelling at them and trying to get inside.

“I was petrified,” she said. “I thought he was going to kill us.”

Police claim the same man chased other motorists and forced them off the road.

One woman, Leah Jokic, was followed along the highway to a service station, where she sought refuge.

I’m thinking the speed I’m doing, I’m going to die,” she told 7 News, fighting back tears.

“I was on the phone to triple zero like ‘Help me, help me’, obviously they couldn’t.

“I thought I was going to die.”

‘Jihadist’ praises bombing, chants ‘Allahu Akbar’ claims ‘this is only the beginning’

A sickening video purports to show a jihadist celebrating the Manchester terror attack in which 22 innocent concert-goers were killed and 59 injured.

‘This is only the beginning,’ the masked man says in the chilling but unverified footage which surfaced today.

'This is only the beginning,' the masked man says in the chilling but unverified footage in which he holds up a sign reading 'Manchester 2017-05-02'The alleged jihadi, sitting in front of an ISIS-style flag, continues: ‘The lions of the Islamic State are beginning to attack all the crusaders.

The lions of the Islamic State are beginning to attack all the crusaders. Allahu Akbar.’

Traumatised families today told of the carnage they witnessed after a suicide bomber set off a ball bearing explosive at a packed Ariana Grande concert last night.

The masked jihadi, who sat with a sign which read ‘Manchester 2017-05-02’, was the latest ISIS sympathisers to celebrate the atrocity.

Two messages, posted four hours before the attack, appeared to predict the atrocity.

Twitter suspended several accounts but the terror group’s sick supporters continued to share messages on Telegram and other encrypted messaging services.

Children are among those who have been killed in the attack, according to Greater Manchester Police.

Witnesses told of nuts and bolts tearing into young music fans when the blast was detonated in the foyer area of the Manchester Arena as a concert US popstar Ariana Grande ended.

The bomb went off at a time when mothers and fathers were leaving with their children and other parents were arriving to pick up groups of youngsters.

Police this morning confirmed that the suicide bomber died inside the arena after an improvised explosive device was detonated. US security sources said the bomber had travelled to the venue on public transport.

Security sources have told MailOnline that the bomber was known to authorities and initial analysis of the ‘sophisticated’ device suggests he may have been part of a cell.

Hundreds of people are now desperately trying to track down loved ones who went missing in the aftermath of the attack, with police having to tell some parents their children have died.

One victim has been named as Georgina Callander, an 18-year-old who had met US singer Ariana Grande two years ago.

Describing the scenes after the blast, one eyewitness told MailOnline she saw a young girl screaming ‘I don’t know where my sister is’. Another man told how he cradled a dying woman and saw a girl with her legs blown off.

As the explosion tore through the lobby, terrified youngsters stampeded for the sold-out 21,000-seater stadium’s exits in horrifying scenes caught on mobile phone cameras. Witnesses described the aftermath as being ‘like a warzone’.

US star Grande, who escaped unharmed, tweeted she was ‘broken’, adding: ‘From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don’t have words.’ Her manager Scooter Braun said: ‘We mourn for the children.’

Eyewitness Jane Hanson, 44, was watching the concert from a box inside the packed arena with her 16-year-old daughter Andrea.

She told MailOnline she heard a ‘massive bang’ and saw a ‘stampede’ of people sprint out of the venue with one girl shouting ‘I don’t know where my sister is’.
