Donald Trump’s gaudy and scandal-ridden political career is now hanging on by a single orange thread – and today could be the day we finally see that thread slashed down the middle.

Enter James Comey, long-time federal prosecutor and freshly sacked FBI director with one heck of a chip on his shoulder.

Comey was tossed out in the cold last month as a direct result of his public investigation into whether Donald Trump’s campaign team colluded with Russian hackers to sabotage Hillary Clinton and steal the presidency. If even a shred of the allegations against Trump’s team are true, this steaming heap will effortlessly dwarf Richard Nixon’s infamous Watergate scandal to become the most disturbing ethical crisis America’s Executive Branch has ever faced.

Not even the “Teflon Don” will be able to survive all this, and to be honest, it’s not looking good. Every move the President has made since this Russia thing started brewing has made him look guiltier and guiltier…

Dave Hughes opens Logies with a bang

Dave Hughes has opened the 79th Logie Awards with all guns blazing, taking a aim at TV chef George Calombaris for the pay scandal in his restaurants and Channel 7 boss Tim Worner over his affair.

A red faced Colombaris chuckled awkwardly as Logies host Hughes gave him a massive roast.

“He had a little bit of an issue where he underpaid the staff at his magnificent restaurants, $2.6 million,” Hughes said.

“But in his defence, he said he’s a chef, not an accountant. Apparently that’s why he cooked the books.”

Seven chief Worner was also skewered for his affair and legal battle with Seven staffer Amber Harrison.

“Channel 7 were working on a pilot of The Wrong Girl, that was starring their CEO Tim Worner, and that was more a reality show.

“He picked the wrong girl to mess with.”

After introducing Grant Denyer as a Gold Logie nominee, Hughes then went on to talk about another Grant, Olympian Grant Hackett, saying he was a whinger.

“See him on Instagram, put a selfie of himself with a black eye and said, “Look what my brother did,” he said.

“That’s what brothers do, Grant, be a dick and they give you a clip. Look on the bright side, you could be Kim Jong-un’s brother.”

James Packer ‘wanted for questioning by Israeli police’

Australian casino mogul James Packer is reportedly wanted for questioning by Israeli police amid a corruption investigation into Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Mr Netanyahu has been questioned four times by police over allegedly receiving expensive and undeclared gifts from high-flying businessmen, including Mr Packer.

Israeli police have been in contact with the Australian Federal Police in connection to the corruption investigation against Mr Netanyahu, according to Times of Israel.

As the March 17 release date of Disney’s highly-anticipated Beauty And The Beast rapidly approaches, fans are being treated to sneak peeks of the live action film.

And in a newly-unveiled clip, Emma Watson and Dan Stevens – who play the movie’s titular characters – are seen in an awkward exchange, which looks set to end badly.

Forming a makeshift rope out of sheets she’s tied together in her bedroom, Emma’s Belle attempts to escape through a window in the Beast’s castle, where she is being held captive, while her imposing captor demands she join him for dinner.
