PERTH plane nuts will get an up-close look at Qantas’ new Dreamliner this morning, when the first of the planes that will service direct routes to London set to fly low over the CBD.
The Great Southern Land – which arrived with great fanfare in the Eastern States this morning – will fly the Perth-to-Melbourne route for the next six weeks to allow staff to become accustomed to the new plane.
But first it will get a water canon salute at Perth Airport and then swoop at an altitude of only 2000 feet over the CBD and Perth’s beaches after it depart at 8am.
