#F1 Hamilton labels Vettel a disgrace after Ferrari ace rammed his car during Azerbaijan GP

LEWIS HAMILTON labelled Sebastian Vettel a “disgrace” after the Ferrari driver deliberately rammed into the British ace in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Hamilton was left fuming after his world title rival drove his car into him while the race was behind a safety car.

Vettel was angry after he had originally gone into the back of Hamilton’s car while the British ace was backing up the field ahead of the restart.

The German drove alongside Hamilton raging and shouting at him – before then turning his car straight into the British star’s.

Hamilton said: “I control the pace, all the other restarts I slowed down at the same spot.

“He lost concentration and hit me, that wasn’t for me the issue.

“Driving alongside and deliberately driving into some is a disgrace.”

Fortunately no damage was done, and the race was temporarily stopped while race officials cleared the Baku track of debris.

But the stewards launched an investigation into the incident, with Vettel hit with a ten-second stop-go penalty which ruined his hopes of a win.

Afterwards, the world championship leader accused Hamilton of dangerous driving – and refused to even acknowledge his rash actions.

Vettel said: “Nothing happened did it…he brake checked me as well so what do you expect?

“For sure he did not do it on purpose. It was unnecessary…
