North Korea: Japan warns of ‘unprecedented, critical and imminent’ nuclear threat
Japan’s Defence Minister has told a high-level meeting that North Korea’s nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities have grown to an “unprecedented, critical and imminent” level.

- Itsunori Odonera called for “different responses” to North Korea’s nuclear tests
- He did not say what responses were favoured by Japan
- Countries around the world have been ramping up sanctions against North Korea
Speaking through an interpreter, Itsunori Onodera said the rising threat meant his country along with allies South Korea and the United States have to collectively trial “different responses” to the rogue regime.
