Adele belts out her hits during Australian tour SECOND dress rehearsal

She’s preparing to begin her Australian tour on Tuesday and Adele was spotted getting ready for the arena spectacular’s first date in Perth on Monday, with new footage of a full dress rehearsal.

The singer was seen earlier the same day rehearsing in another outfit, a flowing floral dress with her hair up and sunglasses to shield her eyes from the sun.

Her sold-out first show at Domain Stadium, also known as Subiaco Oval, will seat a significant audience of 55,000 fans, a record for the venue.

The mother of one also tweeted a time lapse video of the stage being constructed with the accompanying message, ‘See you tomorrow Perth.’

#F1 season gets underway for 2017 with testing in Barcelona

The day F1 fans have been waiting for months to enjoy has arrived, as testing for the 2017 season got underway at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona.

 

• New Mercedes man Valtteri Bottas impressed as did Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel
• Red Bull and McLaren had nightmare mornings as both cars broke down 

All 10 teams competing this season were in action, which will give the first indication as to who will be the leaders and also-rans in the coming months.

Mercedes have dominated recent years, and look set to do so again as Valtteri Bottas – brought in to replace retired world champion Nico Rosberg – initially went fastest on the first morning.

And Ryan Gosling struggled to stifle his giggles after learning his movie La La Land has lost out on the Best Picture Oscar to Moonlight on Sunday.

His costar Emma Stone, who picked up a best actress gong, meanwhile insisted she ‘f***ing loves’ the film which had beaten her own to the prestigious title.

Zootopia wins Oscar for best animation

Disney’s Zootopia, the box-office smash tale of a rural rabbit and a big-city fox who team up to investigate a string of animal disappearances, has won the Oscar for best animated feature.

Zootopia was widely considered the front-runner in the animation category, taking home six trophies at the Annie Awards and snagging a Golden Globe. The film raked in more than $US1 billion ($A1.3 billion) at the box office.

Australia can build an affordable and secure electricity network with 100 per cent renewable energy, using existing technologies, according to research by the Australian National University (ANU).

So how would it work?

The study details plans for a zero-emissions grid which would rely on wind and solar technology, supported by pumped hydro storage.
