Fire breaks out at the Glasgow School of Art for a second time in four years

A LARGE blaze ripped through an architecturally important building at the Glasgow School of Art, the second time in four years that fire has damaged the famed Scottish school.More than 60 firefighters are fighting the fire at the Mackintosh Building in Glasgow.Crews were called to the scene at 11.19pm on Friday loalc time, with 15 crews in attendance.A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) spokeswoman said they were not aware of any casualties.

Melbourne plane crash: One dead after light plane comes down in street near Moorabbin Airport

A screenshot taken from a supplied video showing a light plane on fire after crashing onto a street in Mordialloc.One person has been killed in a small plane crash in a residential street near Moorabbin Airport, in Melbourne’s south-east.

Police said the plane crashed into Scarlet Street, Mordialloc, just after 5:00pm.

It took out power lines and caught fire.

The sole male occupant of the plane was found deceased inside the aircraft. They have yet to be formally identified, police said.

The cause of the crash, and the type of plane involved, is not yet known.

Grant, who lives nearby, told ABC Radio Melbourne that at first he thought it was a car accident.

The aircraft is on the street, its badly burnt in the fuselage behind the engine and the cockpit,” he said.

Sao Paulo building collapses during fire; number of victims unknown

Building up in flamesA burning building in downtown Sao Paulo has collapsed as firefighters worked to put out a fire that began in the middle of the night.

Firefighters said they believed there were victims in the building but did not yet know how many.

Images on social media showed the multi-storey building falling on itself as flames rage.

Debris could be seen smashing into the ground on surrounding streets.

Local media outlets reported the building was formally a headquarters for the federal police but had been abandoned for many years and was frequently occupied by squatters.

Firefighter Andre Elias told Globo TV they expected to find victims.
