Game of Thrones season eight theory: Will Sansa Stark die?

WARNING: Spoilers. If you aren’t up to date in the series, definitely stop reading.

THERE’S no denying we’re in for a suite of shocking deaths when Game of Thrones returns for its final run of six episodes.

And if a new fan theory proves true, Sansa Stark could be the first to go.

The season seven finale only aired a week ago, but if you need a refresher, she was ruling the north in Jon Snow’s absence and had just defeated her closeted enemy, Lord Baelish.

Oh, and a mammoth army of White Walkers had finally broken down The Wall and were on their way to Winterfell to wipe out Sansa and, eventually, all of humankind.

But a clue pointing to Sansa’s ultimate demise may have been dropped all the way back in season one.

Second Border Force boss engulfed in relationship scandal

A DECORATED and politically connected Border Force Assistant Commissioner yesterday resigned while facing an investigation.

Highly experienced Australian Border Force Capability Division Assistant Commissioner Peter Docwra had been on leave before he decided to quit.

The explosive revelations, exclusively revealed today by The Courier-Mail, come as Mr Docwra’s boss, Roman Quaedvlieg, remains on leave while investigators probe his alleged relationship with a much younger staff member.

It is understood the investigation into Mr Docwra relates to a relationship with a staff member with whom he had regular contact.

It is likely the probe into Mr Docwra will continue, despite him leaving on his own terms.

A spokesman for the Department of Immigration and Border Force said: “The department does not comment or confirm whether any matter is, or is not, under investigation.

Bachar Houli accepts his four-game AFL ban on appeal

Richmond defender Bachar Houli, in Melbourne, speaks after the AFL appeal board doubled his suspension after the tribunal initially imposed a two-match sanction for his hit on Carlton’s Jed Lamb…

Prior to the tribunal handing out its verdict on Tuesday, AFL legal counsel Andrew Woods had suggested a four-game ban was an appropriate sanction, while Sam Tovey, representing the club and Houli, had asked for a two-game suspension. Despite their finding of intentional conduct, the jury settled on two games, citing Houli’s exemplary character and record as an explanation of the relatively light sanction.

Later on Tuesday, West Coast defender Will Schofield was unable to call upon a star cast of witnesses, but beat his charge of striking Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver in another contentious incident from last weekend’s action. Oliver was widely criticised for milking what appeared negligible contact from the Eagles star, though replays showed that he had indeed been struck to the jaw with a glancing blow before falling to the ground.

Criticism of the penalty applied in Houli’s case has been widespread, with former Port Adelaide star Kane Cornes and Collingwood premiership midfielder Mick McGuane among a chorus of dissenters following the verdict. “Houli knocks a player out behind the play with an elbow,” tweeted Cornes. “Toby Greene misses a spoil by 2cm. Both get two weeks. Yep.”

SAS sniper kills ISIS terrorist 2.4km away using world’s most powerful rifle

93567266de7aec4ac40d5ee92f3fad39.jpegAN SAS sniper killed an ISIS terrorist from almost 2.4km away using a mega-powerful rifle, a report says.
The Sun reports, it took three whole seconds for the bullet to reach the terror thug in Mosul, Iraq two weeks ago.
A veteran sniper hit the insurgent in the throat as he tried to escape a burnt-out building, killing him almost instantly, the Daily Star said.
It is believed to be one of the most difficult long-range kills in the elite regiment’s history.
The paper claimed the shot was fired from a CheyTac M200 — a record-breaking US-made rifle with a max range of up to nearly 3.2km.
It was reportedly on loan to the British army as part of a battlefield trial.
The kill shot was made after a Four-hour game of cat and mouse ended when the ISIS terrorist, himself a sniper, let his guard down as he moved between positions, a source told the paper.

“It was a classic counter-sniper operation”,
they said.
“The SAS team had him in their sights on several
occasions but did not have the time to get a shot off.
“At such a long range there are so many factors which can
affect the flight of the bullet.
“The distance was so far that it took almost three seconds
for the bullet to hit the target”.
