GoDaddy tells white supremacist site Daily Stormer to find a new domain provider

White supremacist site the Daily Stormer needs to find another domain provider after getting the boot from GoDaddy. In a tweet, the company said “We informed The Daily Stormer that they have 24 hours to move the domain to another provider, as they have violated our terms of service.”

The tweet was made in response to one by The New Agenda founder Amy Suskind calling on GoDaddy to ban Daily Stormer for posting a obscene article about Heather Heyer, who was killed in Charlottesville after being hit by a car allegedly driven by James Alex Fields Jr. Fields has been charged with second-degree murder.

Heyer was among a group of people gathered to protest the Unite the Right white supremacist rally this weekend, which the Daily Stormer helped organize and promote.

In an email to TechCrunch, a GoDaddy spokesperson said “We have informed The Daily Stormer that they have 24 hours to move the domain to another provider, as they have violated our terms of service. If no action is taken after 24 hours, we will cancel the service. Given this latest article comes on the immediate heels of a violent act, we believe this type of article could incite additional violence, which violates our terms of service.”

GoDaddy only provides the domain for Daily Stormer and does not host the site, which calls itself “The World’s Most Genocidal Republican Website.” While GoDaddy’s action is laudable, it’s also important to note that activists, including the Southern Poverty Law Center, began calling on GoDaddy to stop providing Daily Stormer’s domain several months ago.

State of emergency declared for New York’s subway as Governor pledges $1 billion

The Governor of New York has declared a state of emergency for the ageing, frequently failing subway system in New York City.

Speaking two days after a derailment injured at least 34 people, Andrew Cuomo said he was planning to sign an order to speed up efforts to improve the system and that the “current state of decline is wholly unacceptable”.

“One of the processes we’re going to expedite is the MTA procurement process. I’ll ask the comptroller and the attorney general for a special team to expedite the process,” he said, referring to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority that oversees the city’s vast subway system. “But it will no longer be a tortured exercise to do business with the MTA.”

Ambulance in Adelaide crashes and flips at intersection

An ambulance has crashed and rolled onto its side while travelling through a busy Adelaide intersection, hospitalising two crew members.

The ambulance was responding to an elderly woman who had a fall in Seacombe Gardens when it traveled through the intersection about 11.25am on Tuesday.

A car collided with the ambulance and flipped it onto its side at the corner of Sturt and Marion roads.

The two crew members were taken to Flinders Medical Centre where they are in a stable condition.

An SA Ambulance spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the vehicle had its siren on as it traveled through the intersection.

Adelaide man Eduardo Penna, 45, was driving the car that crashed into the ambulance, according to The Advertiser.

‘I was driving through the intersection and then the ambulance ran through the red light and I couldn’t stop,’ he told the newspaper.

‘It was all of a sudden and something I did not expect — it was very fast. Just all of a sudden, I saw the car and I couldn’t break in time so we crashed.’

An SA Ambulance spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the vehicle had its siren on as it traveled through the intersectionOutbound lanes on Sturt Road were blocked for 45 minutes as crews cleared the area, police said.

Police said they are investigating the crash.

Trump cancels human rights block to sell jets to Bahrain in $4billion dollar deal

Donald Trump plans to approve a multibillion-dollar sale of F-16 fighter jets to Bahrain without the human rights conditions imposed by the Obama administration.

The president’s administration announced the plan to Congress on Wednesday, and if finalized, the approval would allow the Gulf island to purchase 19 of the jets from Lockheed Martin Corp.

It would also allow for further improvements to other jets in Bahrain’s fleet. It was reported by Bloomberg last year the deal Obama blocked was worth $4billion.

Though Congress has opportunities to block the sale, it is unlikely it will act to do so, given the Republican majority’s strong support for the sale.
