Red CentreNATS spectators sprayed with burning fuel in Alice Springs; man critical

One person is in a critical condition and 10 others have been injured after burning fuel sprayed into the crowd at the Red CentreNATS racing event in Alice Springs.Key points:

Eleven people were injured, with four transferred to Adelaide, including a 48-year-old man and his 19-year-old son, both from NSW — one of them in a critical condition.A man and a woman aged in their 20s who had serious burns to their limbs were also among those sent to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.On Monday morning five others were stable with burns to their lower limbs and being treated in the Alice Springs Hospital, while two others had been released.

The two men have burns to 20 per cent of their bodies including the face, and one of them remains in a critical condition.Thousands of people have been in Alice Springs for the event this weekend, which brings motoring enthusiasts from across the country to Central Australia.
