A WA coroner has ruled a teenager who died in Western Australia’s Kimberley while in state care was killed by a crocodile, making it the first recorded death by crocodile attack in the state for more than 30 years.
The 15-year-old boy, known as HLS for legal reasons, was found dead in a mangrove swamp about 200 kilometres north of Broome in March 2013, having run away from the bush block where he had been in foster care.
